Tips for embroidered patchs
- Embroidered or printed twill patches hold isolated modules in the fabric, so no bridging is needed.
- Use error-correction H so a stitched module that bleeds slightly still scans.
- Keep modules >= ~1.5 mm for thread/weave to resolve cleanly.
Common failure cases
- Stitch density too low blurs small modules - increase patch size or lower the QR version (shorter URL).
- Glossy thread can wash out contrast under direct light.
How sizing & scan checks work, and sources
- The code is generated in your browser from your input (nothing is uploaded). Physical size is deterministic: module size = template width ÷ (modules + 2×4-module quiet zone).
- We always add the 4-module quiet zone the QR standard requires, and warn when a module would print below 0.4 mm.
- Inches = mm ÷ 25.4. Signs use the ~10:1 distance-to-size guideline.
- QR technology is free for standards-compliant codes; this is an unofficial tool.
